Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting in New York. This full-time role supports a supervising physical therapist and focuses on improving residents’ motor function through evidence-based techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License is required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
