Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting. The PTA will work under a supervising physical therapist to implement care plans for residents.

Qualified applicants have an accredited PTA program background and NY licensure; SNF or geriatric experience is preferred, with new grads welcomed if they have relevant fieldwork experience. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care is preferred, but new grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
