Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this position.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited PTA program and current New York State PTA licensure. Experience in a geriatric or skilled nursing setting is preferred, though new graduates with relevant fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care is preferred, but new graduates with fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and information security.
• Comply with federal, state, and local laws and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
