Qualifications

  • Must speak, read, and write Basic English fluently.
  • Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds.
  • Must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
  • Manual finger dexterity.
  • Ability to perform walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care or arrange appropriate care for patients within the scope of nursing practice and office specialty.
  • Accurately document patient care and interactions in medical records
  • Participate in telephone triage and advise patients according to protocols or provider orders
  • Track laboratory and diagnostic tests and present results to providers
  • Perform pre-visit planning with providers and care teams
  • Administer medications, including injections
  • Check vital signs, height, and weight
  • Review medication histories and update medication lists
  • Assist with health maintenance requirements
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations and clean instruments and rooms
  • Follow standard precautions, OSHA, CLIA, TJC, DFS, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Report patient conditions and reactions following procedures, medication administration, or treatments
  • Assist with prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorizations
  • Enter electronic documentation and, as directed, orders in the EMR/CPOE system
  • Perform CLIA-approved waived laboratory and point-of-care testing, quality control, and maintenance
  • Perform venipuncture and assist with specimen collection, requisitions, and preparation for pickup
  • Provide and review the visit departure summary
  • Manage vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, NCIR and SC DHEC requirements, and clinical supply inventory
