Job summary

Jobtailor in Oakdale, PA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care under an RN on the medical-surgical unit. You will gather patient data, carry out medical orders, and perform therapeutic procedures with a patient-centered focus.

Current LPN license and BLS certification are required. Inpatient med-surg experience and exposure to emergency or critical care environments are preferred to support high-acuity patient care in alignment with PAM Health guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold current LPN/LVN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification must be current.
• Inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Emergency or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate nursing care as directed by an RN on the unit.
• Gather and report patient data for monitoring and decision-making.
• Carry out medical orders accurately and timely.
• Perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner.
• Follow PAM Health policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job description

Requirements

• Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state where the hospital resides
• Current BLS certification required
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments preferred
• Comfort working with vents/trachs/PICC lines preferred
• Two years of experience in direct patient care preferred
