Job summary

American HealthCare seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for the PRN Travel Pool. The LPN will participate in direct resident care and supervise CNAs, ensuring proper medication administration and shift coverage.

Travel opportunities are available with reimbursement for travel expenses beyond an agreed mileage limit. Virginia LPN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program are required; LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Active LPN license in Virginia.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the direct care of residents.
• Supervise all non-professional personnel in the Nursing Department.
• Administer, stock, and dispose of medications in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure CNAs are properly administering services and there is adequate CNA coverage on each shift.
• Travel as needed; travel expenses reimbursed beyond an agreed mileage limit.
