Job summary

American HealthCare in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a PRN Travel Pool to provide direct care to residents in a geriatric setting and supervise non-professional staff in the Nursing Department.

The LPN administers, stocks, and disposes medications per facility policy, ensures CNAs have adequate coverage on each shift, and travels as needed with travel expenses reimbursed beyond a mileage threshold.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Must hold an active LPN license in Virginia.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing in a long-term care facility.
• Good driving record.
• Ability to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in direct care of residents and supervise non-professional personnel in the Nursing Department.
• Administer, stock, and dispose of medications per facility policies.
• Ensure CNAs are properly administering services with adequate CNA coverage on each shift.
