Job summary

Riverside Health in Newport News, VA is seeking an LPN to assist in planning and delivering nursing care under supervision. You will help with emotional and physical comfort of residents and families, and supervise/coordinate auxiliary staff as needed.

The role requires less than 1 year to 1 year LPN experience, Virginia LPN license upon hire, and CPR/BLS within 30 days. Weekend and irregular shifts are part of the schedule with competitive hourly pay.

Overview

Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor, and ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Quality Care Management. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the planning and implementation of nursing care and provides for the emotional, physical comfort and safety of the residents and their families. Assists in supervision of auxiliary personnel.

What you will do

• Medications and treatments are administered accurately and according to provider's orders.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
• Assigns duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs according to education, training, policy and resident need in order to assure quality resident care is delivered.
• Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed.
• Contributes to the development, maintenance, or modifications to the individual service plans.
• Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation according to nursing practice standards.
• Demonstrates consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes.
• Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills.

Less than 1 year 6 Months LPN Nursing Experience in a Long-Term Care/Senior Living Facility (Required) 1 year LPN Nursing Experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
