Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Qualifications

• Current State LPN License.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ten hours of continuing nursing education annually in addition to the licensure requirement.
• Two years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates may enter the LPN residency program.
• Certification requirements such as BLS, ACLS, PALS as unit-specific obligations.

Responsibilities

• Assists with data collection and provides feedback to the Registered Nurse to support clinical decisions.
• Assists with discharge planning.
• Carries out the plan of care and documents reassessments and patient responses.
• Teaches patients and family members about needs identified on admission and during hospitalization.
• Documents teaching and care as per hospital standards; maintains accurate charts.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, quality care and optimal outcomes.
