Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 28-bed Med/Surg unit. You will assist with patient visits, prepare exam rooms, support providers, and participate in treatments and wound care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

You will work 3x12s night shifts (7pm-7am), with holidays and weekends required, as part of a collaborative care team. A sign-on bonus up to $7,500 is available for eligible day-shift candidates with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina or compact state LPN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Providers with preparation and information documentation for the patient's visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients.
• Assists Providers with procedures as directed by the Provider.
• Assists with collection of lab samples.
• Gives injections, administers meds, and provides wound care as ordered by Provider.
• Documents all care and education in medical record.

Join our team in a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. With a 6:1 ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient's needs, administering treatments and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care. Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Licensed Practical Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
