Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Inpatient Rehabilitation on a full-time night shift. The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision and collaboration with PTs and OTs.

This unit emphasizes teamwork, wound care, specimen collection, medication administration, and development of the care plan. A sign-on bonus of $7,500 is available with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current LPN license in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, assist in patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Execute plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medications under supervision.
• Document all patient care and contribute to care plan development.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living: hygiene, nutrition, mobility.
• Monitor and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.

As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

How you'll contribute

Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.

May administer medication.

Documents patient care given.

Assists RN with development of plan of care.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
