Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah, TN is seeking a Wound Care LPN to join our dedicated team. You will provide wound care under RN/provider supervision, assist with patient intake/discharge, and help gather information and supplies for the care team.

The role requires an active TN LPN license, a practical nursing education, and prior LPN/LVN experience with wound care preferred. This is a full-time days position offering comprehensive benefits in a collaborative, patient-centered

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state-approved program.
  • Active Tennessee LPN license (single-state or compact) required and must be updated if relocating.

Responsibilities

  • Provide wound-related patient care under RN/Provider supervision per BLS and hospital protocols.
  • Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties after training.
  • Assist with intake and discharge.
  • Gathers patient information and equipment for RN/provider.
  • Report quality issues to Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Communicate with team regarding interventions to ensure quality care.

How You'll Contribute

A Wound Care LPN who excels in this role:

  • Under the direction of the RN/Provider, provides wound-related patient care according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved and hospital protocols, Policies & Procedures
  • Performs hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties, as needed, after completing the required hyperbaric training
  • May assist with intake and discharge.
  • Gathers patient information.
  • Gathers necessary equipment and supplies for the RN or provider.
  • Reports quality of care issues to Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Communicates as needed with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions, to ensure quality of care.
  • Performs other duties as delegated.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice -to maintain throughout the duration of employment in the position
  • Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN, to include one (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
  • Wound care experience preferred

What We're Looking For
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
  • Active Tennessee LPN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN, to include one (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
  • Wound care experience preferred
