Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time shifts in Etowah, TN. The role involves phlebotomy, EMR experience, and collaboration with the Infusion Department to provide comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment under RN supervision, wound care, medication administration, and coordinating appointments. LPN licensure in Tennessee is required, with emphasis on safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an LPN program with Tennessee licensure
• Experience with phlebotomy and EMR systems required
• Knowledge of healthcare codes (ICD-9/10, CPT) is preferred
• Ability to work under RN supervision and in a fast-paced clinic

Job Type: Full-Time |Monday through Wednesday and Friday (off on Thursdays) 7:45am-5:15pm.

How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nursewho excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures. Attends clinic meetings. Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action. Completes safety instructional programs.
• Assists other team members when time permits.

What we're looking for

• Education: Graduate of an LPN program
• Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds Required
• EMR experience
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful…
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required within 30 days of hire/transfer
• Licenses: Active Tennessee LPN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
