Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide school health nurse services to students.
• Evaluate and treat individual health conditions of students and refer when needed.
• Conduct health assessments (history, screenings, findings).
• Provide instruction in health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Promote and assist in control of communicable diseases.
• Interpret health status to parents and school personnel.
• Maintain student health data/files.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Assist with PDE mandated reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide school health nurse services and primary care services to students
• Evaluate and treat individual physical conditions of students and refer to appropriate resources as needed
• Conduct health assessments (history, screenings, findings)
• Provide instruction in the maintenance of good health and disease prevention
• Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases
• Interpret health status of students to parents and school personnel
• Maintain student health data/files
• Monitor compliance of school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies
• Assist with mandated reports to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)
