Job summary

Merakey is hiring a School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate health care to students in a Philadelphia-area school. The LPN will work under the School Program Director to implement health policies and foster a safe, inclusive environment for children.

The role requires administering medications, proper storage and documentation, infection control, incident management, and collaboration with families and external providers to support each child''s well-being.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program with a current PA LPN license.
• Experience with children with autism is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols.
• Ensuring proper storage, documentation, and safety of all medications and medical supplies.
• Adhering to standard precautions and infection control guidelines to promote a safe and healthy environment.
• Managing incidents and critical events through timely reporting and appropriate follow-up procedures.
• Responding promptly and sensitively to students' health needs, offering calm, compassionate care in both routine and urgent situations.
• Collaborating with school staff, families, and external healthcare providers to support the physical and emotional well-being of each child.

Position Details

The School Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who provides high-quality, compassionate health care to students in a school setting. Working under the direct supervision of the School Program Director, the School Nurse ensures that all health-related policies and procedures are implemented effectively and safely. The School Nurse plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where all children feel safe, supported, and cared for with empathy and professionalism.

Ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications
