The LPN works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide safe, quality patient care across the lifespan. This position plays an important role in supporting patient recovery and well being through direct care, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for providing nursing care within the scope of practice established by the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and Fairfield Memorial Hospital policies and procedures. The LPN contributes to a positive patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and service excellence.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*** Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.* Administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician and document appropriately in the EHR.* Perform assigned nursing procedures to ensure patient comfort, safety, and well-being.* Start and discontinue peripheral IVs and administer approved IV therapies within the LPN scope of practice and hospital policies.* Monitor patients receiving blood products and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising RN.* Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record.* Enter physician orders as needed utilizing computerized physician order entry systems.* Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education utilizing the teach-back method.* Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, families, and ancillary departments.* Demonstrate competency in caring for patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.* Support pain management initiatives through appropriate assessment, intervention, monitoring, and documentation.* Participate in Quality Management and Performance Improvement activities.* Promote teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer relations.* Follow all hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.* Report workplace violence, safety concerns, or compliance issues according to hospital policy.**COMPENSATION:** $34.00 per hour + Shift Differential**SCHEDULE:** As Needed**BENEFITS*** 403(b) Retirement Plan* Paid Leave for All Workers Act Leave (1 hour for every 40 hours worked)**WHAT FMH HAS TO OFFER** Fairfield Memorial Hospital is a mission focused critical access hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, with a strong commitment to improving the health and well being of our community through compassionate service, clinical excellence, and a supportive culture that empowers employees to do their best work.
