Job summary

Alaris Health at Hamilton Park in Jersey City, NJ seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide resident care, treatment and services to residents of the Center, assist in orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, and lead daily operations each shift.

Responsibilities include direct resident assessment, administering medications, care plan development, and coordination with the nursing team. Benefits include PTO, health/dental insurance, 401k, and sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing.
• Licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
• Rehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to handle instruments and monitor residents’ conditions.
• Patience and tact when dealing with residents, families and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Direct resident assessment and care.

• Count and record controlled substances at shift start and end.

Alaris Health at Hamilton Park, a 260 bed-skilled nursing facility in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide resident care, treatment and services to the residents of the Center, assist in the orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, attend to the unit’s daily operations each shift and unit level and assume leadership responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include:

• assuming an active role in direct resident assessment and care
• administering residents’ medication and/or treatment
• assisting in developing and implementing resident and nursing care plans
• counting and recording class drugs at the beginning and end of every shift
• communicating pertinent data to charge nurse, superior and/or physician
• providing residents emotional and physical comfort and ensuring their safety
• supervising and coordinating nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence with state and federal regulations

LPN JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing
• Currently licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
• Rehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred
• Possess manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment and visual and aural acuity to detect changes in residents’ conditions
• Possess understanding, patience and tact in dealing with infirm, chronic or acutely ill residents, their families and visitors
