Job summary

Alaris Health at The Atrium in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide resident care, treatment and services on the Center. The role includes supervising nursing staff, assisting with unit operations, and taking on leadership responsibilities across shifts.

The ideal candidate will have an approved LPN program, NJ license, and preferably rehabilitative or geriatric experience, with dexterity and strong communication to coordinate with physicians and staff while

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing.
• Currently licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
• Rehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred.
• Possess manual dexterity and acuity to monitor residents’ conditions.

Job description

Alaris Health at The Atrium, a 113-bed assisted living in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide resident care, treatment and services to the residents of the Center, assist in the orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, attend to the unit’s daily operations each shift and unit level and assume leadership responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include:

• assuming an active role in direct resident assessment and care
• assisting in developing and implementing resident and nursing care plans
• counting and recording class drugs at the beginning and end of every shift
• communicating pertinent data to charge nurse, superior and/or physician
• providing residents emotional and physical comfort and ensuring their safety
• assisting physicians in making rounds and examining residents
• supervising and coordinating nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence with state and federal regulations

LPN JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing
• Currently licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
• Rehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred
• Possess manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment and visual and aural acuity to detect changes in residents’ conditions
• Ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public
• Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions as necessary
