The Cypress of Hilton Head is seeking a hospitality-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Preston Health Center team in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption is required for employment.

This part-time role offers day/night shift coverage, with 12-hour shifts and scheduling details discussed at interview. Join us to contribute to rehab, long-term care, and memory support in a five-star facility.

Qualifications

• Active SC Practical or Registered Nurse license (or compact).
• Relevant nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Experience in rehabilitative, geriatric, or psychosocial nursing is preferred.
• Knowledge of DHEC, CMS, and agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transcribe physician orders.
• Check, administer, and record medications and treatments accurately.
• Maintain narcotic and medication records up to date.
• Admit and orient new residents.
• Supervise and assign duties to nursing assistants.
• Monitor resident safety at all times.
• Document in medical records per policy and regulation.
• Respond to emergency pull cords and prepare reports.
• Deliver direct resident care as assigned.
• Administer IV medications per policy.
• Assess resident condition and needs.
• Notify doctor and family of condition changes.
• Take precautions to avoid job-related injuries.

You're a good fit if:

• You have an active South Carolina Practical or Registered Nurse license or compact license.
• You have a relevant degree from an accredited college/program.
• You possess education, training, and/or experience in rehabilitative nursing, geriatric nursing, and/or psychosocial nursing.
• You are knowledgeable about all DHEC, CMS, and other agency requirements.
• You pass successful completion of a criminal background and drug screen.
• You have the ability to communicate, understand, empathize, and work with residents, families, visitors, peers, and subordinates.

A typical day looks like:

• Receive and transcribe physician orders.
• Check, administer, and record medications and treatments appropriately.
• Keep narcotic records and medication records up to date.
• Admit and orient new residents.
• Supervise and assign duties to nursing assistants.
• Monitor resident safety issues at all times.
• Document in the medical records as per policy and regulation.
• Respond to emergency pull cord calls in apartments and prepare reports.
• Complete direct resident care.
• Administer intravenous medications per facility policy.
• Assess the resident's condition and needs.
• Notify the doctor and family of the condition changes.
• Take appropriate precautions to avoid job-related injuries and comply with injury reporting guidelines.
