Job summary

Bedford Care Centers seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care in our long-term care facility. You will supervise LPNs and Nurse Aides, administer medications, and monitor residents' progress under the RN Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must hold Practical Nursing License in good standing in Mississippi.
• Experience in Long-Term Care Nursing preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs.
• Provides information regarding changes in Residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor.
• Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations.
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident.
• Assists with Resident ADL Care as required.
• Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record.
• Receives and records Physicians’ Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician’s Orders.
• Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs.
• Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures.
• Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
