Job summary

Bedford Care Center of Newton is seeking a dedicated LPN to provide nursing care to residents in our long-term care facility. You will supervise Nurse Aides, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document progress for the RN Supervisor.

Qualifications

• LPN license in good standing in Mississippi.
• Experience in Long-Term Care Nursing preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and medical practices in LTC.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs.
• Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, and symptoms.
• Prepares medication cart for rounds and stocks supplies.
• Notifies RN Supervisor of changes in Residents’ progress.
• Schedules and provides treatments as directed by Physician.
• Supervises Nurse Aides and assists with ADL Care.
• Maintains infection control and universal precautions.

Job Summary:

Provides Nursing Care to Nursing Home Residents; supervises other LPN’s and Nurse Aides.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
• Provides information regarding changes in Residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
• Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident
• Assists with Resident ADL Care as required
• Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record
• Receives and records Physicians’ Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician’s Orders
• Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs
• Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
• Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides

Qualifications and Skills:

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
