Job summary

Bedford Care Centers in Picayune, Mississippi, is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide nursing care to residents in our long-term care facility. The role includes supervising other LPNs and nurse aides, administering medications, and monitoring residents’ status.

You will work closely with the RN Supervisor, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Practical Nursing license in good standing in Mississippi.
• Experience in Long-Term Care preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing techniques and practices in Long-Term Care.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
• Charts residents’ progress, ailments, medications, symptoms, incidents and observations
• Communicates changes in residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician
• Assists with Resident ADL Care as required
• Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings
• Receives and records Physicians’ Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Orders
• Communicates with other Departments to meet Residents’ needs
• Assists in Infection Control monitoring; adheres to Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
• Observes, supervises Nurse Aides

Job Summary:

• Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs


• Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures


• Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides

Qualifications and Skills:

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
