Job summary

Bedford Alzheimer's Care Center in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. You will supervise LPNs and nurse aides, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document resident progress under the direction of the RN supervisor.

Job Summary:

Provides Nursing Care to Nursing Home Residents; supervises other LPN’s and Nurse Aides.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
• Provides information regarding changes in Residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor
• Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
• Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
• Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident

Qualifications and Skills:

Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
