Job summary

Sentara Health’s hospice services in South Boston, VA, seeks an LPN for third shift (nights) on a part-time basis (24 hours/week). You will provide direct one-on-one home health care, monitor patient health, administer treatments and collaborate with a team of nurses and physicians.

The role requires a VA LPN license, BLS within 90 days, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, with hospice background preferred. Travel up to 50 miles may be required.

Qualifications

Overview

Sentara Health is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct one‑on‑one care to patients in a home health care setting. The LPN monitors patient health, administers treatments, manages medications and offers essential support to patients with various medical needs in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals, including registered nurses and physicians.

Location & Shift

South Boston, VA (Sentara Hospice Services)

Third (Nights) / Part‑time (24 hours/week); night shift 12 AM–8 AM. Travel up to a 50‑mile radius may be required.

Compensation

Hourly range: $22.39–$37.00.

Position Requirements

• Education: Trade school graduate in nursing (required).
• Certification/Licensure: LPN license in state of practice (VA). BLS required within 90 days.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years. Prior hospice experience strongly preferred.
