Licensed Practical Nurse - Dermatology Full-time Days

  • Salary Range Maximum: $35.27

Schedule: Monday-Friday, can start as early as 6:30 am and end as late as 6:30 pm (rotating shifts based on the physician's schedule), 40 hours per week.

The LPN Medication Privileges reflect the mission, vision, and values of NM, adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in assessing the patient's problem/condition.
  • Provide pre-attending care for patients.
  • Document the patient's chief complaint, history, and needs.
  • Develop, plan, and modify nursing care plans with Registered Nurses or Advanced Practice Nurses.
  • Implement delegated aspects of the nursing care plan, including:
    • Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments as ordered or delegated.
    • Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intradermal medications.
    • Perform medicated baths, respiratory, dermatological treatments, or phototherapy as delegated.
    • Monitor IV infusions as delegated; prohibited from administering epidural medications.
  • Evaluate patient responses and report outcomes.
  • Participate in educational strategies to promote health outcomes.
  • Document observations and interventions accurately.
  • Advocate for patients through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development for patient safety.
  • Perform duties within LPN scope, such as vital signs, phlebotomy, wound care, and urinary catheterization.
  • Support physicians and RNs in referrals, labs, diagnostics, medication orders, and scheduling.
  • Assist in urgent/emergent situations following protocols.
  • Identify hazards and report risks or defective equipment.
  • Complete NETS reports for patient/visitor events with supervisor collaboration.
  • Perform other delegated tasks within LPN scope.

AA/EOE.

Required:

  • Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
  • CPR certification (healthcare provider level) from the American Heart Association.

Preferred:

  • One to two years of ambulatory care experience preferred.
