Qualifications

Nurse Clinician- Oncology Infusion, Full time Days ($10,000 Sign on Bonus)

Description

The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment requiring exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, and clinical and administrative units. This position involves performing patient assessments via phone or in person, implementing nursing interventions, and organizing patient education for the unit's population.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance. Report and assist in rectifying deficiencies. Supervise care of medical equipment.
  • Perform pre-attending care, including comprehensive assessments, documentation, and maintaining confidentiality. Follow protocols for information release.
  • Perform routine nursing duties and demonstrate competency in complex procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and specialized treatments like chemotherapy and conscious sedation.
  • Interpret test abnormalities, take remedial actions, and document interventions clearly and legibly.
  • Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies to coordinate patient care.
  • Manage triage and prioritization of calls, documenting assessments thoroughly.
  • Handle urgent/emergent situations per protocols, operate emergency equipment.
  • Serve as a resource, address patient care needs proactively, and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Follow policies, suggest improvements, and implement new procedures timely.
  • Coordinate and ensure understanding of patient education, participate in community outreach, and support staff education.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • State RN license
  • Basic CPR certification
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (may be required for some positions)

Note: A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates and those not employed at NM within the last year. Internal candidates and rehires within the last year are ineligible.
