Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for night shift, full-time with PRN opportunities in Daytona Beach, FL. The role involves supervising Nursing Assistants, medication administration, and ongoing patient assessments in a long-term care setting.

You will ensure compliance with regulations, document care, and participate in care planning and rounds. Sign-on bonus of $3000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid LPN license in the state employed.
• Experience in long-term care/post-acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules and guidelines.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of residents' discharge plans as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Chart nurses' notes reflecting care provided and residents' responses.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician and in accordance with policy.
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Ensure narcotics handling complies with regulations and accurate records.
• Make daily rounds to ensure nursing staff meet standards.
• Notify attending physicians and family when there are changes or incidents.
• Attend in-service programs and complete required evaluations and documentation.

Looking for Night Shift Full Time Coverage and PRN

Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center

• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plans as required

• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary

• Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflect the care provided to the residents, as well as the residents’ responses to the care

• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy

• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with established policies

• Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy and that narcotic records are accurate for your shift

• Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards

• Notify the residents’ attending physicians and next-of-kin when there is a change in the residents’ conditions or if the residents are involved in an incident or accident

• Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required

• Daily Required Nursing evaluations and documentation is completed in Point Click Care.

Qualifications:

• MUST hold a current and valid LPN license in the state employed

• Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred
