Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Florida to join a caring team dedicated to high-quality patient care in a long-term care setting.

You will direct nursing assistants, assist with discharge planning, document thoroughly, and administer medications per physician orders and policy. This role requires vaccination and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid LPN license in the state employed.
• Long term care/post-acute care setting experience preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of employment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with rules and guidelines for the long-term care center.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plans as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Chart nurses' notes reflecting care and residents' responses.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with regulations and center policy.
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment per policy.
• Ensure narcotics handling and records comply with regulations and policy.
• Make daily rounds to ensure nursing staff meet standards.
• Notify attending physicians and next-of-kin if resident conditions change or incidents occur.
• Attend center in-service programs as required.
• Complete daily nursing evaluations and documentation in Point Click Care.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plans as required
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
• Chart nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflect the care provided to the residents, as well as the residents' responses to the care
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with established policies
• Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy and that narcotic records are accurate for your shift
• Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards
• Notify the residents' attending physicians and next-of-kin when there is a change in the residents' conditions or if the residents are involved in an incident or accident
• Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required
• Daily Required Nursing evaluations and documentation is completed in Point Click Care.

Qualifications:

• MUST hold a current and valid LPN license in the state employed
