Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support patients in the Myrtle Beach area. This full-time day shift role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package as part of one of the nation’s leading home health and hospice providers.

Responsibilities include verifying plans of care with the RN, collaborating with the physician and RN, teaching patients and caregivers, and conducting routine assessments and medication reconciliations to help patients heal at home.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; notify them promptly when patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. Foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
