Job Summary
Responsible for direct and indirect nursing care of his/her assigned patients,
to include patient teaching, facilitating health teaching groups and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs all basic nursing care procedures including the care of acutely ill patients
and monitoring the ongoing health status of patients.
2. Completes nursing assessments.
3. Completes and updates Nursing Care Plans on all patients.
4. Assists physician as needed.
5. Writes progress notes and other documentation as required.
6. Participates or conducts group sessions for patients as required.
7. Conducts health discussion groups or seminars with patients as assigned.
8. Performs nursing functions necessary for smooth operation of the patient unit:
9.Responds to patient and institutional emergencies as indicated.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
1. Attends all mandated training.
2. Complies with current Eagleville Hospital safety and infection control policies.
3. Maintains a cooperative, courteous and respectful attitude in all interactions
with patients, visitors and other employees.
4. Works cooperatively with unit program staff.

1. Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally, stating to the caller “Eagleville Hospital” your name and department.
2. Assisting patients, family members and other customers with concern and empathy.
3. Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.

Educational Requirements
Graduate of an approved practical nurse education program, or by law, able to substitute
approved experience for education. In addition, has completed a medication administration
program to administer oral and injectable subcutaneous and intramuscular medications to patients.
Qualifications
Current State License (LPN); Current certification in CPR/BLS; A minimum of two years’ experience in a psychiatric setting and/or drug/alcohol facility (evaluated individually);
Ability to communicate well, both orally and written; leadership skills; ability to organize
and facilitate patient care in any inpatient unit within the Hospital; training in
group dynamics and group therapy, physical and psychological assessment skills (evaluated
individually); ability to work within a team structure.
Physical Requirements
Occasional heavy lifting to assist in moving or restraining patients (approx. 100 - 350 lb.).
Extensive walking and standing while performing duties required; ability to push med cart,
wheelchair to transport patients on campus; ability to climb at least three flights of stairs;
good oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
Staff various units and shifts as needed. Weekend and holiday duty per Nursing policy.
Exposure to infectious diseases. Required to intervene in psychiatric emergencies
