Job summary

The City of New Smyrna Beach is seeking a licensed Plans Examiner to review residential and commercial plans for code compliance. The role operates under the Chief Building Official and ensures plans meet all applicable codes.

Starting at $31.58–$36.56 per hour, depending on qualifications; standard workweek is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, at 214 Sam's Ave, NSB FL. An HS diploma and relevant construction experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have DBPR Standard Plans Examiner license or provisional license in one trade.
• Experience in construction across building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades is preferred.
• Education/work experience combined to demonstrate knowledge of plans examination and code compliance.
