Job summary

Tyndall Engineering & Design seeks a Structural Field Inspection Manager – Licensed PE to lead field services, review and seal reports, and drive standardized procedures across offices. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and client partnership while mentoring teams and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

The position requires a NC (SC) PE license and 5+ years in related engineering services, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in NC (SC for Charleston Office) or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
• Minimum 5+ years in field services, inspections, or related engineering.
• Experience reviewing technical deliverables and implementing quality controls.
• Prior people leadership or strong readiness to assume supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Strong written communication for client-ready reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and coaching for field services staff.
• Review, approve, and seal field reports per state board rules and standards.
• Lead the development and rollout of standardized field procedures across offices.
• Conduct audits to ensure SOP adherence and improve report quality.
• Evaluate and implement improved field data collection tools.
• Serve as primary client contact for field service projects and scoping.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to connect findings to design intent.
