Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol seeks a certified Team Lead with PE licensure to oversee and inspect transportation and waterfront construction sites in Norfolk, VA. You will lead field inspections, coordinate with teams, and ensure reports meet standards.

Expect five days of field work, occasional travel; post-offer background checks and drug screening apply. Virginia licensure within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer licensure required; ability to obtain in Virginia within 6 months of hire.
• 4–7 years of structural inspection experience.
• FHWA-NHI-130055 certification.
• Team Leader qualification FHWA NBIS (23 CFR 650.309).
• NSTM/Fracture Critical certification FHWA-NHI-130078.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and participate in field inspections and construction observation for transportation and waterfront sites.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, proposals, and technical documents.
• Assist in delivering technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for design and inspection projects.
• Provide quality assurance reviews of inspection reports and ensure adherence to Quality Management System.
• Collaborate with other professionals to gather information for projects.
