Job summary

CPH is seeking a Structural Engineer in Sanford, FL to design and document structural systems for residential and commercial projects. You will apply codes and standards and collaborate with project teams to deliver constructible, cost-effective solutions.

The role spans all design phases, requiring a Florida PE license and strong communication and project-management skills. Limited travel and a focus on documentation, QA, and client satisfaction are expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed professional engineer (PE) in Florida is required.
• Minimum 3 years of PE experience in Florida.
• Supervisory experience of structural designers or interns.
• Experience with vertical construction projects.
• Ability to perform site investigations and assessments.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project software (Deltek VantagePoint, Smartsheet).
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and other structural elements.
• Prepare detailed calculations, plans, reports, and specs for residential and commercial projects.
• Develop design details and construction documents communicating structural intent.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants for coordinated designs.
• Take design responsibility, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support drafting standards and quality assurance reviews.
• Assist in cost estimates and construction documentation.
• Support field activities by responding to RFIs and site visits.
• Maintain organized project documentation throughout all phases.
• Limited travel may be required.
