Job summary

Sam's Club in Lathrop, CA seeks an Optician in Charge to provide member service, verify prescriptions, measure pupillary distance, and adjust and repair eyewear while managing the Optical area.

You will coordinate with labs and optometrists, handle insurance processing and patient records, maintain licensure, ABO/NCLE certifications, and sponsor apprentices as required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure or registration as Optician in Charge.
• ABO/NCLE certifications must be maintained.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to sponsor Apprentices as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide member service and assist with eyewear purchases and adjustments.
• Measure pupillary distance and assess accommodation for different lens types.
• Process optical orders, insurance claims, and maintain infection control and HIPAA standards.
• Coordinate with labs and optometrists regarding status and product updates.
