Job summary

Visionworks of America in Riverhead, NY, is seeking an ophthalmic dispensing associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection and to dispense frames and accessories. You will interpret prescriptions and coordinate with labs and optometrists to ensure accurate results.

The role requires a high school diploma, state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing, and strong customer service and math skills. This is a full-time, on-site position with emphasis on HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.
• Experience with providing customers information regarding frames, lens selections and other services.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene practices.
• Provide accurate product information and lens recommendations.
• Explain benefits and charges not covered by third-party insurance.
• Interpret prescriptions and coordinate with lab and optometrist for accuracy.
