Job summary

Affinity Eye Care is seeking a Licensed Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site in a full-time role. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper measurements and lens dispensing, and maintain excellent service from consultation to final fit.

The position requires state licensure and optical dispensing experience, with ABO/NCLE preferred. Competitive benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• State Licensure to practice as a licensed optician.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Experience in optical dispensing.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• PC skills including Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities.
• Excellent customer service and sales experience.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Keep current on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Handle patient calls, update order status, and escalate issues.
• Educate patients on lens care, warranty, and insurance coverage.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE; ensure documentation is attached.
• Verify orders are within time guidelines and inform patients of delays.
• Dispense glasses, ensure proper fit, and adjust as needed.
• Proficient with pupilometers, PD sticks, lensometers, and frame tools.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status.
• Inspect final product for flaws; clean and polish.
• Maintain cleanliness of frames and displays.
• Answer patient questions about insurance, pricing, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
