Qualifications

  • Must have a valid, unrestricted LNHA license in CA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration preferred.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
  • Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operation of the facility as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing body.
  • Identifies KPIs with department heads and establishes a system to monitor indicators such as QA and PI processes.
  • Evaluates KPI outcomes with department heads to determine actions from leadership.
  • Develops and implements processes to maintain the facility’s fiscal health.
  • Develops and executes census and occupancy management strategy to improve census and fiscal health.
  • Represents the facility publicly and in professional arenas; communicates clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Leads regular management team meetings to discuss priorities and develop solutions with facility leaders.
  • Maintains positive relationships with residents, employees, and families through deliberate interactions.
  • Evaluates work performance and maintains accountability across departments with HR.
  • Facilitates participation in committees as necessary.
  • Understands OBRA, CFR, State Operations Manual, Life Safety Code, and applicable labor laws.
  • Tracks CMS initiatives such as SNF-VBP, SNF-QRP, Quality Measures, and Payroll Based Journal reporting.
  • Ensures compassionate quality care through an interdisciplinary team and adequate staffing.
  • Recruits qualified individuals in collaboration with HR to fill department head positions.
  • Performs rounds to know residents by name and to be accessible to staff.
  • Maintains safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards.
  • Leads budget development and budget compliance meetings; reviews monthly financials for the governing board.
