Job summary

CMG Financial is seeking an experienced mortgage professional to join a fast-paced, high-producing team. This role sits on the front end of the loan process—from lead to pre-approval and contract—requiring accuracy, timely communication, and strong problem-solving abilities.

You will review applications, calculate income and ratios, interpret AUS findings, and position files for success. An active NMLS license is preferred, with licensing support offered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Significant mortgage lending experience and strong understanding of agency/investor guidelines.
• Active Mortgage Loan Originator license through NMLS, or willingness to obtain.
• Enjoy researching guidelines and solving problems rather than concluding a loan cannot be done.
• Strong income-calculation skills, including self-employed and nontraditional income.
• Understand AUS findings and underlying guidelines.
• Comfort reviewing income, assets, credit, liabilities, and qualifying ratios.
• Curious, resourceful and willing to research when needed.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in ownership and next steps.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Calculate borrower income and qualifying ratios, including complex income scenarios.
• Review assets, credit, liabilities, and other documentation to identify qualification issues.
• Run, review, and interpret AUS findings.
• Research agency, investor, and product guidelines to determine loan eligibility and structure.
• Identify documentation requirements and outstanding items for pre-approval.
• Assist the Loan Officer with evaluating and structuring loan scenarios.
• Prepare files for accurate and thorough pre-approval.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with borrowers and referral partners.
• Track documentation, borrower follow-ups, and important deadlines.
• Proactively identify issues and develop solutions with the team.
