Job summary

Waterford Communities Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a Medication Aide to ensure medications are administered accurately and in accordance with the Five Rights. The role requires leadership, adherence to policies, and precise medication processes to support residents’ well-being.

Qualifications

• Must be a Medication Aide licensed in Nebraska and active on the DHHS registry.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure thorough medication check-in with all new orders and deliveries.
• Verify MAR matches current orders.
• Communicate with Pharmacy, Physicians, or other providers as needed.
• Maintain current Nebraska Medication Aide licensure.
• Stay familiar with residents and ensure policies are followed.
• Report and document incidents and falls per Waterford policy.
• Complete required in-service hours as per state regulations.
• Ensure care plans are up to date and bring revisions to the DOH/Administrator/Waterford RN.
• Assist residents with toileting, mobility, dressing, and bathing.
• Observe resident responses to medications and treatments, and report.
• Attend meetings as assigned by Administrator, Director of Health Care, and Waterford RN.
• Assist dietary department with beverages and meal distribution when able.
