Job summary

PACS seeks a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders and nursing supervision. The role emphasizes adherence to facility policies, accurate documentation, and collaborative care with nursing staff and pharmacists.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and active state licensure, with strong attention to detail and the ability to report and prevent medication errors.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Medication Aide.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business-related materials.
• Ability to write reports and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies for administering medications.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report complaints by residents to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in facility surveys and QA programs.
• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as ordered.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications.
