Job summary

Madison Reed, Inc. is hiring aLicensed Colorist for our New York Color Bar. The role focuses on guest consultations, hair color services, and product recommendations to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.

You will work to meet peak-day demands, maintain a clean, organized color bar, and contribute to monthly sales goals through color, retail, and memberships. Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions, and tips, with earnings range of $42–$44 per hour depending on performance and tenure.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state you are applying.
• 1+ year of experience as a colorist behind the chair within a salon environment.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills, in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with our values.
• Provide consultations and all services offered on the menu, including shampooing and conditioning, styling, and all chemical services.
• Be attentive to guest needs to help select the best products and color for them.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and other KPIs.
• Ensures Hair Color Bar meets company standards of cleanliness and inventory.
• Adheres to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive Hair Color Bar revenue through increasing the average service ticket and memberships.
• Grow within Madison Reed by participating in ongoing training and staying up to date on MR products.
• Support the training and development of Assistant Colorists.
