Job summary

Stonington Institute in North Stonington, CT is seeking a Licensed Clinician to lead clinical assessment, planning and therapy for Detox unit clients. You will perform risk assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver individual and group therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role supports medical detox and residential care within a large hospital family (UHS). Independent licensure is required, with two years of mental health counseling experience in substance abuse populations

Qualifications

• Independent license required (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC, licensed psychologist).
• Two years mental health counseling experience with substance abuse population preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family and group therapy and psycho-educational groups.
• Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment.
• Coordinate diagnostic reviews and treatment team meetings.
• Complete documentation: Assessments, Master Treatment Plan, Treatment Plan Updates, Progress Notes, and Discharge Plans.
• Plan and implement individualized treatment plans with bio-psycho-social history considerations.
• Maintain contact with outside agencies and participate in decision-making conferences.
• Protect clients' legal rights and ensure confidentiality.
