Qualifications

• Master's degree in the behavioral sciences and relevant counseling knowledge.
• LCSW/LADC/LPC/LMFT or license eligible within two years of hire date.
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information pertinent to client care.
• Knowledge of the effects of substance use, homelessness, medical and mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Conducts screening, intake, orientation, and assessment of clients to obtain information concerning substance use and medical history or other pertinent information.
• Implements therapeutic treatment using counseling, case management, and crisis intervention to help clients overcome substance use disorders.
• Consult with medical professionals concerning treatment plans and amend plans as directed.
• Provide information and education to individuals and groups about substance use and mental health resources.
• Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
• Assist with direct client care, including safety checks, daily routines, and meals.
