Job summary

Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, invites a Senior Counselor to join our North Stonington facility. You will supervise clinical sessions, maintain meticulous documentation, and support an adult addictions treatment program with medical detox and residential services.

You will manage a caseload of 12–18 clients, lead psychoeducational groups, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, and assist with discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Masters level Licensed Counselor in Connecticut.
• Minimum of three years of counseling experience.
• Proficiency in group counseling and Psychoeducational group facilitation.
• Expertise in completing initial assessments, developing treatment plans, and executing discharge plans.
• Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and 12 Step Facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Supervision: Perform Clinical Supervisions in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensure meticulous documentation of all clinical supervision sessions.
• Client Care: Foster a client-centered environment that respects clients' rights and cultural differences.
• Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of 12-18 clients, providing group counseling, leading effective Psychoeducational groups, completing initial assessments, developing treatment plans, and executing discharge plans.
• Administrative Coverage: Provide administrative coverage for the Operations Director as required.
• Internship Program Oversight: Supervise the internship program, ensuring proper training, supervision, and evaluation of interns.
