About The Role

The Licensed Clinician will provide mental health assessments and treatment services to students and their families within a middle and upper school setting. They will be an integral part of the school community, offering direct clinical services and other supports as needed.

What You’ll Do
  1. Provide school-based mental health services to Junior High School students.
  2. Conduct intake and orientation activities with students and families.
  3. Provide individual and group counseling to assigned students.
  4. Attend SBST and in-house meetings and supervision.
  5. Maintain clinical records in an Electronic Health Record, ensuring documentation is timely, thorough, and youth-centered.
  6. Conduct home visits as needed.
  7. Develop a physical and mental health workshop series.
  8. Refer students to academic and personal support services as needed.
  9. Maintain a rigorous caseload and provide regular clinical services.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications
  1. Must possess a valid NY state clinical license (LCSW, LMSW, LCAT, LMFT, LMHC).
  2. Limited Permit holders considered.
  3. Previous clinical experience, especially in a school setting, preferred.
  4. Knowledge of family systems; strong writing, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently; strong computer literacy.
  6. Ability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.
  7. Spanish speaking is preferred.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, during school hours within a DOE school.

Additional Requirements
  1. Authorized to work in the U.S.
  2. Ability to work in-person in NYC at least 3 days per week.
  3. Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites if required.
