Job summary

Cogent Talent Solutions client, a growing civil engineering and surveying team, seeks a licensed Professional Engineer (Civil) to lead the design, stamping, and delivery of land development, site design, and infrastructure projects in the Indianapolis area.

This role partners with project managers, surveyors, and external consultants through permitting and construction, while mentoring junior staff and handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required for civil projects.
• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with land development and subdivision design.
• Proficient in grading, drainage, and site utility design.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently.
• Strong written communication for client-facing deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and stamp civil plans including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Interpret project drawings, specs, and survey data.
• Coordinate with municipalities, agencies, and clients through permitting.
• Perform engineering calculations and QA reviews on deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers during execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed.
• Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement.
