Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an Engineer I to perform planning, design, and quantitative analysis to support the city’s public infrastructure and fire protection systems. This licensed engineer will manage projects from design through construction, coordinating with city departments and external partners.

Candidates should hold a Texas PE and a BS in engineering; experience with capital improvement projects and contract management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, or eligible to obtain within six months.
• Experience with city infrastructure projects and design/inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and construction contracts for City infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate all phases of engineering design and capital improvement projects.
• Develop and review plans to ensure compliance with standards.
• Review invoices, submittals, and progress payments.
• Prepare agenda and change order packages for contracts.
• Collaborate with consultants, inspectors, and city departments to complete projects.
