Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking an LPN in Anchorage, AK to provide contracted patient care under the nursing process, from planning to evaluation.

You will implement and adjust plans, administer medications, monitor outcomes, and coordinate care with physicians and teams. The position offers Sunday–Thursday shifts with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the practicing state.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for clients receiving contracted services.
• Initiates the plan of care and requests revisions as patient needs change.
• Applies therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on diagnosis and goals.
• Intervenes for changes in patient condition and reports to physician or supervisor.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents effectiveness.
• Reviews care plans and program protocols to identify education, care coordination, and discharge needs.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required
• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable

Requirements

• Current License Practical Nurse (LPN) License for the state in which the nurse practices.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior nurse experience preferred.
