Job summary

Brooklyn Public Library in Brooklyn seeks a dedicated Motor Vehicle Operator to operate Library vehicles, move and deliver furniture, books and supplies, and maintain vehicle safety and serviceability. You will be part of a full-time, union, non-exempt workforce and handle loading, unloading, and transport tasks across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to lift heavy objects (60lbs or more).
• Able to work all shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load & unload materials and equipment.
• Transport Library staff to locations as directed.
• Transport Library materials to assigned locations.
• Pack & unpack Library books and materials.
• Participate in snow removal.
• Assemble furniture.
• Prepare reports & forms and record activities.
